Published by Rajkamal Prakashan in 1999, this is the first and only thesaurus of Indian mythological names. Beginning with God, the thesaurus goes on to all deities, gods and goddesses, avatars, Gandharvas, sages, saints, scholars, and demons. It is uniquely comprehensive (it lists more than 2400 names of Shiva!), and for any given figure, gives all related information at the same place (for instance, under ‘Brahma’, Shabdeswari gives the various names of Brahma as also the names of Brahma’s wife, children, residence, vehicle, weapons and so on.
